PIN ME FOR LATER!
Hey peeps! Have you been following my Insta stories this week? I shared a glimpse of my travel schedule for the next few months. Right now I’m visiting Los Angeles and Seattle for two weeks! Yesterday I stayed at Kimpton Hotel Monaco Seattle and I’m going to share with you why!
You guys know I’ve been going on my journey to live a more green life. Part of that means supporting hotels that have sustainable values. So while searching for environmentally conscious hotels in the Seattle area, I came across the Kimpton brand!
Not only do they share my eco-friendly values though, the hotel is also super cute! Sustainability and style are two characteristics that tend to attract me to a hotel. After all, my mission in life is to show people that eco-friendliness isn’t just for hippies. You can still be glamorous while saving the planet.
Here are a couple things that caught my eye about Kimpton Hotel Monaco Seattle:
WHO LET THE DOGS OUT?
I’m not going to lie—what first caught my attention about the Kimpton brand was seeing that it’s a pet-friendly hotel chain. I have two dogs that I never travel with because, well, they’re big, boisterous, and I can’t imagine a hotel ever allowing them to stay there without having to pay an exorbitant fee. At Kimpton, however, they welcome dogs of all sizes and they don’t charge you! WHAT? So yeah, that alone made me want to explore further.
GET YOUR YOGA ON
For those of you who know me, I mean really know me, then you know I suck at yoga. However, I DO work out. Staying fit while traveling is very important to me, so I like that they provide yoga mats in every room. It shows they care about your wellness.
FREE BIKES!
I lovvvvvve exploring cities by bike. It means less cars on the road and a fun way to keep fit on vacation. Kimpton Hotel Monaco Seattle provides FREE loaner public bikes. So when you go there, take advantage! Think twice before calling Lyft or a cab and opt to hop on a bike instead.
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
Speaking of cycling, the hotel is in the most perfect area, which means you can ride on down to some cool spots! My sister and I chose to explore Pike Place Market which is right down the street. There is so much to do in this one area—tons of restaurant options, ferry rides, the original Starbucks, specialty goods from the farmer’s market, and you can ride on the Seattle Great Wheel!
NOT WASTEFUL
Being eco-friendly goes beyond asking guests to skip having their rooms cleaned for a day. There are a lot of little things hotels can incorporate to make their accommodations more green. One detail I thought was so awesome is instead of having little throw-away plastic containers for shampoo, conditioner, and lotion—they have refillable containers. It may seem small, but that’s actually a big deal! Think about how much waste is created from hotels when they offer the typical beauty products that just get tossed into the trash each day of your stay.
So those are just a few of my favorite aspects of this hotel I wanted to highlight! I wasn’t there very long, but my sister and I definitely enjoyed our stay. Next time you’re in Washington, consider staying at Kimpton Hotel Monaco Seattle.
